Superheterodyne transistor radio
Introduced in May 1959. The best selling transistor radio in Great Britain in the beginning of the sixties.
The design by David Ogle. The finish of the cases differ: the C model (above) is chrome and blue, the B model brass and brown. The case is the same as that of valve portable model MB60, issued in 1957.
Transistors: OC44, 2× OC45, 4× OC72. Uses a 9V PP9 battery.
Bands: Medium and long wave.
The radio was re-introduced as model TR82/97 (with FM, see picture on the right) in 1998. This "faithfull reproduction" differs from the original so much that nothing can be used to repair an original radio and sound quality is below average.
