Telefunken
was founded in 1903 as "Gesellschaft für drahtlose Telegraphie Telefunken mbH"
as a
daughter of AEG and Siemens.
The trio AEG, Siemens and Telefunken started late with the
introduction of super heterodyne radios.
In order to break open the market for two coil radio's the trio
introduced a four coil-3-valve-super with inductive-capacitive
coupling. Unfortunately this system
generated a lot of noise during tuning. The "Nauen
330" got the nickname of "Pfeifende Johanna" (Whistling
Johanna).
In
1967 Telefunken and AEG become Aktiengesellschaft
AEG-Telefunken, later AEG sells Telefunken to Thomson France.
